CHECK OUT WHAT WE DID FOR MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK 2023 BELOW
We’ve had a very successful week raising awareness on mental health and anxiety and we hope all staff members enjoyed the activities and learnt something new about how to deal with stress and anxiety.
Each day we have hosted activities, all of which were focused around reducing any anxiety that may be experienced.
These activities were:
Monday
On Monday all staff received a Toolbox Talk from QHSE which focused on coping with anxiety and gave some tools to help.
Tuesday
On Tuesday, staff members attended the ‘walk and talk’ event- a lunchtime walk around nearby Waverley lake which presented the opportunity to get out in the fresh air in a pleasant surrounding, get some exercise and to speak to each other.
Wednesday
On Wednesday, staff members took part in a Yoga Nidra Power Nap, a deep relaxation practice involving breathing, a body scan, and a simple visualisation element.
Thursday
On Thursday, two of our Mental Health First Aiders were available at Head Office for drop in sessions for anyone who felt they needed support. Staff members also wore green in line with The Mental Health Foundation’s ‘Wear it Green Day’ which is to raise awareness of the Mental Health Foundation and the fantastic work they do.
Friday
On Friday, staff members attended sessions with a mindfulness coach. This gave a chance to increase awareness about how we can look after ourselves and gain some easy-to-use tools that can help when we need them.
It covered:
- What is mindfulness?
- How can it help us mid anxiety/worry?
- How can it help us to enjoy the little things more?
