Powertherm are getting involved in Mental Health Awareness Week
Today marks the launch of Mental Health Awareness Week, the UK’s national week to raise awareness of mental health.
The week, which is hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, is in its 22nd year and runs from 9-15 May.
This year, the theme for the week is ‘Loneliness’. Across the country, people will be reflecting on loneliness and how it impacts our mental health. Long-term loneliness is closely linked to mental health problems such as depression and anxiety.
Over the next week, Powertherm will be focusing on mental health in the workplace. We will be holding sessions where we will talk about mental health in the workplace, encouraging staff to share their thoughts and feedback on this important subject. We will also outline our mental health commitments and provide information on some valuable resources.
Our aim this week is to encourage an open culture around mental health at Powertherm, provide our colleagues with some valuable information and to learn where we are doing well, or not so well, so that we can put better things in place to reduce mental health issues at Powertherm and help those who may be struggling.
Powertherm’s Mental Health Commitments:
- Promoting an open culture around mental health; improving knowledge and communication surrounding mental health & wellbeing.
- Providing the tools and support to all employees.
- Encouraging all our people to prioritise their mental health; breaking down associated stigmas.
- Taking ownership and acting upon all mental health related questions, concerns and events.
- Regularly measure how we are performing, providing feedback proactively, to influence change and continuous improvement.
